Last week I wrote about how my daughter has started making my lunch each day so that I can be a little healthier and save some money at the same time.
I received a few comments and a few emails from readers asking what kind of a lunch box it was. So I thought I would take a picture of it and share it with you so you can see for yourself.
So here you go my lovely trash followers, here is the now famous lunch box. The contents of the lunch box are left over pizza from last night, a cup of Kroger brand peach fruit on the bottom yogurt, a Gala apple, and today's Houston Chronicle news paper.
Yes I read the news paper every day at lunch time, it helps keep my mind relaxed, fresh, and up to date on the current events going on the in world. And since I am sure that you are curious, I read the sports page first, followed by the business section, the local section, the front page, and then the lifestyle section (which contains the funnies).
I should take requests from all of you more often.
Somehow the only thing that surprised me was the colour. I wasn't expecting pink
ReplyDeleteMan, I WISH I had some leftover pizza right now.
ReplyDeleteHehe, I'm similar but start with the comics.
ReplyDeleteIt's a damn lovely lunch box.
ReplyDeleteWhy not grate some carrot and cheese, mix it with a few sultanas and a teaspoon of mayo, then spread some peanut butter on a wrap and roll some of the carrot mix in it. I take one of these with a flask of soup to work.
ReplyDeleteyum.
ReplyDeletepizza.
puurrrrty.
cool.
@ Mynx, it is pink AND black.
ReplyDelete@ Kev, it was delicious.
@ Lost, I do read the comics as well. But I start with the sports page because you can't really have media bias in the stats there.
@ Lurker, thanks.
@ Tony, I can't do mayo.
@ Bruce, thank you.
I KNEW I wasn't quick enough to be the first to comment on the fact that it is pink. So cute!
ReplyDeleteand when do you read the funnies? You left that part out.
ReplyDeleteyum pizza the food of champions and how sweet that your daughter packs it for you
ReplyDelete@ Cake, yep I guess you have to be quick to be the first around here apparently.
ReplyDelete@ Rosie, I read the funnies last. They are in the lifestyle section.
Only a real man would have the balls to carry a lunch sack of that style. Kudos brother, kudos...
ReplyDelete@ Becca, it was yummy and yes it is sweet of her to do.
ReplyDelete@ Sausage, the only pink part is the part on the front. The rest of it is all black.
That daughter of yours is priceless! How sweet and she must just love her daddy.
ReplyDeleteYou save the funnies for last. I can respect that. haha
ReplyDeletewhat an absolute sweetheart your little girl is!
ReplyDeleteand i think your lunchbox is very manly ;)
I'll agree with previous commenters: I wasn't expecting a pink lunchbox (even with the dashes of black in it). I'm quite jealous of your lunch...I LOVE leftover pizza. Yummy!
ReplyDelete@ Barb, yes she sure is sweet.
ReplyDelete@ TS, nothing wrong with it.
@ Kage, thank you. Yes it is very manly.
@ Sam, I don't think anyone was expecting it to be pink.
I like the lunchbag. It's kind of cute and kind of girlie. I mean, very very manly. Hey, I thought you said it was purple and black? Regardless, I have no doubts you still grill a mean burger.
ReplyDeletexoRobyn
I cant get into print newspaper...The ink drives me crazy.
ReplyDeleteLove the lunchbox and the fact that you have a wonderful children who love you!
Trash, I know her making your lunch does a lot for you but I think it does a lot for her, too! Great work, Dad.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the pink lunch bag...
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm with Kev D..I want pizza. Right now.
@ Robyn, thank you. The original one was purple and black but the one she has given me to use since that first day is pink and black.
ReplyDelete@ Brandi, well I used to be bothered by it as well but they have improved over the years. And thank you.
@ JLow, I think you are right.
@ Cinderita, thank you.
@ Lemmiwinks, thank you.
I love that! I love the Houston Chronicle. It reminds me of my dad. He definitely starts with the Sports first, too. I can't wait for Sunday. I go straight for the Parade. It's like a free People or something.
ReplyDeleteCan your daughter make my sons' lunches?
I must have missed that becuase I was half asleep when I read haha :)
ReplyDeleteReal men aren't bothered by pink. The lunch box serves a purpose, it's full of food and it was made with love. Good post.
ReplyDelete@ Kelley, thank you. And I also like the Sunday paper. Yes my daughter has helped her brother make his lunch before.
ReplyDelete@ Rosie, I went back and added it in after your comment.
@ Bothered, I am not bother by pink. Although you won't catch me wearing pink boxers any time soon.
Where's my share of pizza?
ReplyDeleteThe pink probably goes with your glowing cheeks from how thrilled you are that she makes you lunch! What a sweetie she is!
ReplyDeletePink, schmink! Who cares? I have a little pink composition book with little princess crowns on it. I bought it for my daughter but she didn't want it. So, I use it to record any Penwasser ramblings. Don't bother me any. I guess that's how your mindset changes when you grow up. My lunchbox is blue, but I think I want pizza tomorrow!
ReplyDelete@ Primed, it is here, you just have to come down here to get it. Or go to Boston Pizza. Wait bring me some Boston Pizza down here yea that is the plan.
ReplyDelete@ Average, yes that is very true.
@ Al, I don't care that it is pink. Especially when I am hungry.
Real men can carry pink around with no worries! You would fit right in down here in Palm Beach!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter got my husband a pink lunchbox and he carried it proudly. You forgot to tell us what KIND of pizza you had...obviously inquiring minds will have to know that!
ReplyDeleteok, that makes you awesome in my book ;)
ReplyDelete@ Mamma, yes that is true. I would? They have pasty white guys down there carrying pink lunch boxes?
ReplyDelete@ Laughingmom, there is nothing wrong with that at all. And the pizza was ham and pineapple. I would have taken some of the pepperoni or supreme but those were gone fast.
@ Rosie, thank you.
This is so awsome because at this very moment i just put a pizza in the oven. Yay me! Nice lunch box. Hope the pizza was good, and the sports news.
ReplyDeletewww.catiesjourney.blogspot.com
You rock the pink well my friend.
ReplyDeleteAs for the paper...I read the comics first but that's really not surprising now is it?
I love that it's pink. You should carry it around like a purse and count how many odd looks you get. And how many guys flirt with you =)
ReplyDeleteInteresting way of reading a newspaper.
ReplyDeleteMe, I start with the advice column, followed in rapid succession the commics, the local/obit, the front page and the piddly sports section.
Kewl lunch though. Wish I was able to have that kind of stuff in mine, but alas I am a diabetic so unfortunately I need to have the same boring thing every M-F.
@ Catie, yay for pizza. And thank you yes the pizza was good as was the sports page.
ReplyDelete@ Galore, thank you. No that was not shocking at all.
@ Picesitchensis, I don't know if I could rock it like that.
@ G, yes it is. And there is no wrong way to read a newspaper. And I don't think I could do that. I better get my diet together.
Pink lunchboxes of the world UNITE! :D
ReplyDeletei have a pink lunchbox too. All the cool kids do.
Real men carry a pink 'box. Sweet. Does your daughter know you cheat and eat at Popeye's??? :)
ReplyDelete@ Anna, well I guess I am a cool kid now.
ReplyDelete@ Sara, yep that is true. Yes she knows. The pictures for this post were taken yesterday. I ran out of stuff to make for lunch this morning.
Gala apples are the best...crispy and cold
ReplyDeleteAll of my lunch stuff is Hello Kitty themed. And then I wonder why my 8 yr. old sister keeps finding ways to "borrow" it.
ReplyDeleteI am in awe of your willpower.
ReplyDelete@ Ryan, yes they are the best. They are the only ones I will eat.
ReplyDelete@ Chio, hmmm that might be why it is always getting borrowed.
@ Copyboy, thank you sir. I do seem to have a lot of it.
mine never leaves the house. forget it daily. I seem to eat out for lunch every day :(
ReplyDeletemy husband frequently carries my daughter's little pink, hearty sandich box to work with him. it makes me happy. shows security in the manliness.
ReplyDelete@ Mack, that can get expensive very quickly.
ReplyDelete@ Sherilin, I am glad to know that I am not the only man who has a pink lunch box.
Yeah, I love that it's pink. A lunchbox made with love. :)
ReplyDelete@ Virgin, yes it is a lunchbox made with love.
ReplyDeleteHome lunch is truly the best type...
ReplyDelete@ Teach, very true.
ReplyDeleteI bet you look dashing holding the pink. But the contents far exceed whatever comment you get. PIZZA! :D
ReplyDelete@ Ditz, I do. And I agree with you I love me some pizza.
